QA Engineer – Automation (Selenium with Java)

Key Skills

• 3–6 years of experience in QA/Software Testing with strong manual and automation testing experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Strong understanding of Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and End-to-End Testing.
• Experience with TestNG/JUnit, Maven, Page Object Model (POM), and automation framework development/maintenance.
• Good knowledge of Java, OOP concepts.
• Experience with API Testing using Postman, knowledge of RestAssured is preferred.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database/backend validation.
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and defect lifecycle.
• Experience with Jira/Mantis or similar defect tracking tools.
• Hands-on knowledge of Git and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Allure/Extent Reports or similar tool for test reporting and Log4j2 or similar logging frameworks.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain Selenium automation scripts using Java.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks, POM components, utilities, and regression suites.
• Perform manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and E2E testing.
• Analyze automation failures and troubleshoot script, application, environment, and data-related issues.
• Create and maintain test cases, scenarios, test data, automation scripts, and execution reports.
• Perform API testing using Postman and backend validation using SQL.
• Log, track, retest, and verify defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers, BAs, and product teams.
• Maintain automation code using Git and support automated test execution through CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to improving automation coverage, framework quality, test stability, execution efficiency, and overall product quality.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to JMeter/Performance Testing.
• Knowledge of Karate, or Cucumber/BDD.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Selenium Grid and parallel test execution.
• Exposure to BrowserStack/Sauce Labs or cloud-based testing.
• Basic knowledge of Docker/containers.
